I desperately needed to lose weight for my wedding. I have lost 13 pounds on the first week, and 10 pounds on the second. This is quite a short time for losing weight, and not very healthy, I know. However, this quick weight loss success was a kick-start for my weight loss journey, and it motivated me to keep losing weight, following natural and healthy methods later. I am going to share every single step I followed on the second week, that helped me to lose 10 pounds in 7 days.

1) First, I had a day of detox - to cleanse my body and lose weight even faster. I prepared a drink of lemon juice, ginger and honey mixed with water, and drank this detox drink during the day. Whenever hungry, I just drank it. I felt good, as I normally do, no cramps, no lack of energy, nothing. This was not hard at all, and I am sure it boosted my weight loss results. I know some people do the whole week of detox, but this is not for me.

2) I limited the amounts of foods, because I really needed to lose weight so fast. I had plenty of vegetables, lean meat, fish, eggs, and some fruits (mostly apples and oranges). My new rule of eating was this: half of the plate should be veggies (just tried to avoid too much potato), ¼ of the plate - white meat or fish, and the rest can be fruit (no bananas because they are too sweet and starchy). I know that eating less is not always an option for a long lasting weight loss. But it surely is an option for fast weight loss, and that`s what my goal was. An easier way to reduce the amount of food is to get a smaller plate. However, eating less was pretty hard, I admit. But I reached my goal, and I am so happy now.

3) I added 2 apples an one can of black beans to my daily diet. I had the beans as my main meal, or split them into 2 smaller meals and had with veggies on the side. This is a trick that no diets tell. And it works wonders, because 35 grams of fiber in a daily diet truly supercharges weight loss. These fibers clean the digestive tract and improve digestion.

4) I started to eat breakfast and stopped eating at night. 7 PM was the latest time of the day when I had my dinner. Breakfast boosted my metabolism and helped me to burn calories faster, although I never believed it could be so important for weight loss. It kept me energized as well. I got at least 10 glasses of water during the day, and I still do - water cleanses the body, increases metabolic rate, and does not let you feel hungry.

5) I distributed my usual calorie intake during the day. I started to eat 5 times a day, having smaller meals. This way I never had to go hungry.

6) I limited fat, sweet and not so healthy food, and whenever I felt like I need to eat something unhealthy, I moved those meals to the first part of the day. Because metabolism is higher in the morning compared to the evening, and this let me eat a donut or ice cream once every few days.

7) Instead of drinking juice, I had a fresh fruit every time. Juice is too sweet for weight loss, if you`re thirsty, get some water or unsweetened green tea.

8) I kept myself motivated and busy all the time. I know that when you`re busy, you have no time to go to the kitchen. This works wonders.

This plan might sound too simple to lose 10 pounds in a week - but follow this plan religiously, and you will see real results.

Volaris Airlines - A New Airline For Mexico

Mexico is getting a new airline and if the carrier meets all expectations it will go a long way in helping Mexican air traffic double over just the next three years. Volaris Airlines, started by Mexican billionaires Carlos Slim and Emilio Azcarraga, is expecting to take its first flight on March 13, 2006. Volaris may impact the airline industry well beyond Mexico especially if its aggressive expansion plans work out.

With the Mexican government in the process of divesting its interest in two airlines, Aero Mexico and Mexicana Airlines, start up carriers are poised to jump in and provide service as fares drop and demand surges. Up to now, the highly controlled Mexican airline industry has put a damper on customer demand as artificially high prices and a restricted market have kept customers away. Volaris Airlines, along with competing start up airline, Interjet, are expected to quickly reshape the Mexican airline industry beginning this year.

Volaris is planning to serve at least six Mexican cities and eventually provide service between Mexican and U.S. destinations. No word how all of this will impact wannabe start up Mexus Airlines, currently operating as a "paper carrier" with no concrete plans [or funding] to start flying.

Volaris plans on flying 16 A319 aircraft and has an option on 40 A320 aircraft. TACA International Airlines, based in El Salvador, will hold a minority stake in the airline. Teaching Strategies

Teaching strategies for developing wellbeing

There are different things to think about in the classroom when it comes to developing wellbeing for everyone. Since this concept is becoming increasingly relevant to many of the governments agendas; particularly those for Every Child Matters and No Child Left Behind it is a good time to be considering just how we build wellbeing everyday in the way we teach. Wellbeing usually means the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual state of each person. Obviously the intent is that this is strong and positive for everyone but as we know well this isn't the case in any group of people. there will be some who are having a dip on at least one of these aspects and some who will be low on all of them. Interestingly wellbeing can be improved by having, not only improvements in physical conditions and the general quality of life, but also by increasing the number of opportunities for personal growth. This is an area where teaching strategies can be utilised easily as most topics and teaching styles can include a small amount of time spent on considering what this means to a child personally and what they might want to do about it if it is something they feel passionate about. This self reflection is an excellent way to develop personal strengths ad awareness.
There are three main areas to be checking out

Our own wellbeing
The physical environment

Teaching Strategies

The class climate is how cooperative and cohesive the group are as a whole - which of course includes the teacher and any other adults in the class as well. How well do people get on, is the attitude in the group positive and encouraging without being scared of challenge. In short it is to do with how pessimistic or optimistic everyone is and how well they live out the values that are embedded in the class. Typically these include things like respect for self and others, sharing, honesty etc. Teaching strategies that encourage all of this include:

Group work, circle time, expressive arts included in delivering some topics, specific teaching of communication and negotiation skills to the group, games that are not competitive.

Our own wellbeing is a given. If we are not feeling on top of our game, or at least near the top we will send out subtle vibes that say 'don't wind me up, I can't take it today', or 'i am too fragile at the moment, be careful with me.' At an energetic level we will be sending out messages of anger, distress, anxiety or frustration which will not help things in the great mix of energies that make up the group. It is really important that we take our wellbeing seriously and make sure we are rested, relaxed and having fun in our lives and our classrooms so that our own inner resilience, optimism and strength come across in any teaching strategy we might use.

Finally the physical environment does make a big difference to wellbeing as obviously a small, poky, dirty and unpleasant room will bring people's spirits down. Doing what you can to make sure that there are different areas for different activities or styles of learning can help, even in circumstances that are less than ideal. Making a reading place, a movement place and creating the option for some learners to be working near natural light whilst others can work in dimmer lighting. Differentiating the environment in this way is another way to think about delivering an inclusive curriculum for your group and improving wellbeing too.

Most Powerful Mantra for Opening the Third Eye Chakra

Not only Kundalini Yoga, but all of Yoga is really based on the Seven Chakra System. In this system there are seven chakra points that lie along the spine, from the base to the crown of the head, and each of these chakra points is responsible for the organs and glands situation in it's region. The chakras, though, are responsible for not just the organs and glands, but they are also responsible for our various personality traits and characteristic. Of these seven chakras, more of the most important and fascinating is the Ajna Chakra, or Third Eye.

Situated in the middle of brain directly behind the center of the forehead, is the Third Eye Chakra. This chakra governs the pituitary glad, which is the master gland for the endocrine system and strongly influences the functioning of the other endocrine glands. The endocrine system is very key to your overall health, thus, for optimum wellbeing, having the pituitary gland functioning properly is of paramount importance. Opening, balancing and healing the Ajna chakra, directly improves the functioning of this most important gland.

In addition, the Third Eye is considered to be the seat of wisdom and intuition. It allows us to see the unseen and know the unknown. Opening this chakra allows you to develop your intuitive, psychic nature. The more balanced and open this center is, the greater power of intuition and insight you will have. So let's find out how to activate this most important chakra point.

Most Powerful Mantra for Opening the Third Eye Chakra

The most powerful method of opening the Third Eye Chakra, is with the use of the OM (AUM) mantra. Each chakra and a seed sound, or bij mantra, which is a sound that that particular center resonates with, and chanting that sound activates that center. For the Ajna chakra, the seed sound is the AUM mantra. Chanting it aloud, or just mentally is one of the best techniques for opening this chakra. Here are two good methods for chanting this mantra.

In the first AUM mantra chanting technique, you should inhale deeply and then make a long OOO sound, for about two thirds of the breath. Then, for the last one third of the breath, make the sound MMM. Feel this sound emerging from the center of the forehead and emanating outwards. In addition, have your eyes turned slightly upwards as if you are trying to look through the center of the forehead. This is called Shambhavi Mudra, and it further stimulates the Third Eye.

The second technique for chanting the AUM mantra, does not require you to even verbalize the sound. Instead, close your eyes and as you inhale, feel the sound OOO entering through the center of your forehead, and as you exhale feel the sound MMM leaving from the center of your forehead. Repeat this meditation for as long as you like, imagining the sounds entering and leaving. Again, you should have your eyes turned slightly upwards, without strain, as if you are looking through the center of the forehead.

Both of the techniques above are excellent mediation methods for opening and balancing the Third Eye Chakra. As I mentioned, opening this center bestows numerous benefits, ranging from excellent health, wisdom and even psychic powers. My only request is that you use the powers you ascertain for helping yourself and other in their spiritual evolution only. May the pure light within guide you.

No Menstrual Period After Stopping Birth Control Pill

If you are on the birth control pill, the first step in trying to get pregnant is to stop the pill. After all, the pill works by preventing ovulation, and you need to ovulate first if you want to get pregnant.

But what's going on if you stop the pill and you don't get your period for some time? Is there something wrong?

Missing your period is also called amenorrhea. And the very first thing that comes to mind when you don't have your period if you could be pregnant.

Even without getting your period first there might be a chance you are pregnant. Taking a pregnancy test will pretty much tell you whether your are pregnant or not. A negative pregnancy test, especially if it's repeated over a week or so, usually means that you are not pregnant.

But is there anything wrong if your period hasn't come for 2-3 months after stopping the pill? And when should you see your doctor?

First of all let me reassure you. The sort of delay you're experiencing after going off the pill is quite common and here's what's going on:

Combined contraceptives, containing both estrogen and progesterone, are the most commonly used oral contraceptives. They prevent ovulation by maintaining certain hormone levels and suppressing other natural hormones that would otherwise stimulate the ovaries to ripen and release an egg. By taking combined oral contraceptives, you prevent an egg from developing, or being released, for that cycle.

While a woman is on the pill, the menstrual period doesn't come - as it usually does, as a result of ovulation - but because of the sudden decrease in hormone levels during the one week per month when the pills she takes are placebos, when they don't contain any hormones.

Because their cycle is controlled by the pills, women taking oral contraceptives are used to getting regular menstrual periods every 28 days.

When you stop taking the pill entirely, the constant hormone level that suppresses ovulation stops. Your body has to start its own hormone production and may sometimes need some time to regain its normal rhythm. The ovary itself has to get ready so that an egg can mature and can be released.

While there are several hundred thousand eggs in the ovaries ready to mature, they may need some time before your first new ovulation.

Your regular menstrual period is usually the result of ovulation, not the other way around.
Menstrual bleeding usually results from a decrease in natural hormone levels about 14 days after the ovulation, if you're not pregnant. The average woman takes one month to three months to start ovulating again after stopping the pill. Sometimes ovulation may occur sooner; other times, it may take longer. So the first sign that your ovulation has returned is usually the reappearance of your regular menstrual cycle, a couple of weeks after ovulation.

"Post-pill amenorrhea," the absence of a menstrual period after you stop the pill, is seen in about one in 30 women after they stop the pill. Until you start menstruating regularly, it's going to be difficult to tell exactly when you've ovulated, unless you start checking for other signs of ovulation.

To improve your chances of predicting the day of ovulation, you may want to do the following:

Use a basal body temperature thermometer and create a temperature chart Check your cervical mucus for signs of ovulation Add an ovulation-prediction kit (OPK)

You might want to have sex regularly, once a day or every other day, around the time you think you might be ovulating or when the ovulation-prediction kit shows you are about to ovulate, just to make sure you don't miss the important day of ovulation.

If your menstrual period doesn't return, or if it continues to remain very irregular for several months, that may be a sign that you haven't started ovulating regularly yet.

If your menstrual cycle has not returned by three months, or more, after you stop the pill, you probably want to see your Ob-Gyn and discuss what to do next.

Treatment

There are a variety of treatments out there. One of the most dangerous is ingested prescription pills. These pills contain toxins which attempt to rid the fungus. They also do severe damage to your liver possibly leading to liver disease.

I found over the counter medicines ineffective against my toenail fungus.

What started working for me was when I dipped my feet in beer for approximately thirty minutes per treatment twice a day. Regular old beer works at attacking fungus. I found regular beer to work the best none of that light stuff. After my beer treatment I coated my toenails in a natural topical treatment. Within about two weeks I started seeing noticeable results.

First off, regardless of what your heart tells you or how your mind forces you to think, DO NOT obsess with a guy you can never have. There are so many more fish in the sea, so many more guys you can love who actually deserve your love. Do not ever hurt yourself for some guy who will never learn to appreciate you. The signs are the following:

These tips are not foolproof, since human nature is always fickle. So, I suggest you read this and use it as a reference and not your bible.

Strategy ONE

Ask him. He says he likes you. Case closed. You are done. But, fearing rejection, can you even do that? If only things were so simple. I'll tell you this. Just ask him. This will save you a lot of time. If he says no, then you can understand that he doesn't and may not even after knowing you for a bit of time. Therefore, it will be him who regrets later on when he falls for you in return, granted you guys will hang out and stuff... Maybe not, since if he does reject you, it will be too embarrassing... So what you can do is this....

"Do you like me?"

"No."

"I knew it! I don't like you either." Haha!

"Do you like me?"

"Yes, as a friend."

"Me too. I was worried because I thought you didn't like me as a friend..." Saved!

If he says he likes you in a way that he likes you likes you and not as friend, then you've just scored yourself your dream guy.

Just be careful.

There are many more signs, but anyway, just go with your heart, take care of yourself, and let things happen naturally. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be.

How Not to Feel Lonely

We all are alone sometimes, but that does not mean feeling lonely; we can be alone and be perfectly happy, so what is it that makes us feel lonely and how can we make ourselves feel good?

But also why do we feel lonely?

I have worked with many clients who have experienced abuse in one form or the other in their lives and there is a common factor, which is in fact the feeling of loneliness they experience.

How Not to Feel Lonely

And I have worked with many expatriates who experience the same feeling as well.

And also people unhappy in their relationships or families experience the same.

So, what is this feeling of loneliness that so many people experience?

Loneliness is a feeling of inner void and feeling of loss, loss of someone and, in a way, loss of ourselves. It is a feeling of being a victim or being betrayed, or not in control of our lives.

And of course the feeling of loneliness comes out at particular times, such as Christmas.

And there is a common pattern, which is that when we feel lonely we tend to fill our lives with work and more work, or with Charity work.

And we look forward that the Christmas holidays are over in order to start the same routine again.

But between you and me, we know that this does not solve the situation, don't we?

It is important to look into the eyes of the feeling of loneliness and the pain it causes and deal with it, otherwise it will come back again and again.

Ok, what are the most important factors to feel good even if you are alone, and not to feel lonely?

First of all you need to organize your life, you need to establish a sort of structure.

It is a question of taking ownership and control of yourself and your life and deciding who you want to be and how you want to live your life.

Then self-esteem is a very important factor, because self-esteem is what makes you feel good.

You need to start liking yourself, respecting yourself, putting yourself first. Be yourself and give value to yourself.

Develop a belief that you can create anything you want in your life, so if you want more friends, plan in advance for the kind of friends you want, for the kind of people you want in your life, and reach out for them.

And also a belief that it is ok to be alone, that you simply organize your life.

And once you are in control of your life and you feel good about yourself, you simply decide what you want to do.

The Role of a Flight Attendant

The words 'flight attendant' brings to my mind a very clear image of what I expect: the industry has developed a very clear and defined role which is generally met across the board. This article will seek to outline from personal experience what the role of a flight attendant is, how it varies and what makes a 'good' flight attendant.

The reputation of an airline will make or break it. The most obvious role of cabin crew is to be well presented, be professional and make a good impression on travellers to encourage them to use the same airline in the future. I've seen first hand how true this is: people who experience bad customer service from flight attendants change their airline - simple as.

Wellbeing &

Further to this, attendants are responsible for the safety, comfort and wellbeing of their passengers. 'Back in the day' they had to be trained nurses in case of an emergency although that's not true nowadays. Still though they must be able to cope with emergency procedures whatever they may be. While air travel is very safe way to travel nowadays, there is still the potential for problems which all staff onboard need to be able to cope with.

The Role of a Flight Attendant

Ensuring the comfort of passengers is extended to being the main point of contact between the traveller and the airline during the flight. Passengers, of course, can't get up and go and talk to the pilot but they can speak directly to the cabin crew, which is essential to developing trust and mutual respect.

The role of supervisor is another key responsibility of theirs. Airplanes contain a number of very different people in a confined space which must be kept in a comfortable, orderly and appropriate state.

There is of course, in addition to the aforementioned roles, the necessity of mundane duties such as checking tickets, giving out flight information, helping with carry-on luggage, using in-flight entertainment, etc.

I hope this article has given a quick but accurate view of the roles and responsibilities of a flight attendant for anyone interested in the moving their career in that direction or researching their own role for professional development. After talking with a number of other busy travellers I'm assured my points are fair things to generally expect from cabin crew and 'industry standards' of the role. What is clear is that there's much more to it than "the exits are here, here and here" and there's more to it than the cult classic 'Airplane' might suggest...

Boundaries Within Counselling

Counselling provides people with an opportunity to help deal with their difficulties, whatever they may be. It is a chance to be listened to and understood. The relationship between counsellor and client is a special one. It is built around trust and support and offers clients a place free from judgement. As such, it is important that there are a number of boundaries and support mechanisms in place to ensure the needs of the client are met. These boundaries should be apparent whether you receive counselling face to face, online or over the telephone.

The relationship must always remain professional. This is the case even if you have counselling for years and years. Clients and counsellors are not friends. This distinct difference allows your counsellor to retain a level of objectivity that a friend will struggle with when you go to them with your problems. Your friend may have a stake in the outcome of your problems that a counsellor will not have. For example, despite being supportive, your friend hopes you will split up with your boyfriend as they never liked him. You can get on really well with your counsellor but the relationship should always remain formal. If you suddenly start meeting outside sessions with your counsellor for coffee for example, this boundary is lost and the relationship is compromised.

Another boundary to be aware of is that counselling is not about telling you what to do. Counsellors will work towards self awareness and help promote change. Clients are regarded as experts in their own life and capable of making decisions. Counselling can help clarify these decisions and broaden perspectives. Again, this is how a counsellor can be more effective than a friend as it is so easy for a friend to give advice that may or may not be helpful to your particular experience. Ever known someone who responds to your problems by saying "I know what you mean, that happened to me", then launch into a totally unrelated story about themselves?

Boundaries Within Counselling

A client should always feel safe in a counselling relationship. There should not be any untoward touching, or interaction that the client feels is inappropriate. Related to the idea of safety, you will find counsellors like to begin and end sessions on time, therefore providing a space set aside just for clients, where the boundaries are clear.

Finally, sometimes a client may be referred to another support agency. This may happen if the counsellor acknowledges that the client can get better help elsewhere or if boundaries are broken. Counsellors do not have all the answers and they should never imply that they do.
