10 Easiest Vegetables To Grow In Your Organic Garden

Radishes are probably the easiest vegetable to start out with. They thrive in all climates, all year round in temperate zones. The other great thing about them is that they mature really quickly, from seed to eating in as little as 4 or 5 weeks.

They rarely have any pest or disease problems because they grow so quickly.

If you've already enriched the soil with organic compost all you need do is keep the water up to them, especially in hot, dry weather - mulch in summer, but not in winter. If you've used plenty of seed you may need to thin them as they get bigger. Pick them as soon as they're a reasonable size or they become woody.

Silverbeet, Spinach or Swiss Chard

This group of vegetables are related and are also quite easy to grow. Spinach grows best in cooler climates, but silverbeet will grow all year round in temperate zones.

If you're growing them from seed, soak them overnight. Sow seeds about 30cm (12 inches) apart by placing them on the soil surface and poking with your finger to the depth of about 1cm (half inch). Cover with soil and water in well.

Keep them well watered in hot weather and apply organic fertilizer every month, giving them an occasional feed with an organic liquid fertilizer. Mulching with compost or pea-straw will help conserve water, control weeds and feed your soil.

When the leaves are big enough to use, pick from the outside making sure you leave at least 5 or 6 stalks in the centre for the plant to continue growing.

Capsicum (peppers) and Chillies

These plants are also related to each other and enjoy the same growing conditions. They are a warm climate vegetable and will not set fruit if the overnight temperatures are too low. You can grow both capsicum and chillies in pots.

You may need to stake capsicum for wind protection if you grow them vigorously, as they can reach up to 80cm (30inches).
Sow in seed boxes in spring. When your seedlings have reached 15cm (6inches), transplant them into beds prepared with compost at about 50cm (20inches) apart.

Fertilize with organic pellets every 4 or 5 weeks when they start to flower. Make sure you don't over do it, or you will end up with very healthy plants with lots of leaves, but very little fruit.

You can harvest capsicum at any time, but if you wait for the fruit to turn red (they all start out green) they have much higher amounts of vitamin C.
Leave chillies on the plant to mature, then they can be harvested and used fresh. If you want to dry some just leave them in a dark, dry, airy place for several weeks. They will store well in glass jars for many years. Remember never to touch your eyes after handling chillies as it is very painful. Wash your hands thoroughly.

Cherry Tomatoes

Tomatoes will grow in most soils and all but the coldest climates. And cherry tomatoes are the easiest to grow, so they suit new gardeners perfectly. They will even grow well as tub specimens. It's not essential to stake them, provided you don't mind them sprawling around the place a bit.

They are frost tender, so you can start them indoors if your area has late frosts. When your seedlings get to 15 - 20cm (6-8inches), transplant them into their permanent position, whether it be tub or ground. If you are going to stake them, get your stakes in first so you don't damage their young root system. Tomatoes (unlike most plants) actually benefit from being planted deeper than they were in the seedling box. You can even bury the bottom leaves. This actually benefits the plant as they grow roots right up to the soil surface, giving it more stability and accessibility to water and nutrients.
If growing them in the ground, give them at least 50cm (20inches) spacing.
Deep water you plants regularly and give a thick layer of mulch.

Providing you're planting your tomatoes in a compost-rich soil, you will only need to liquid fertilize when fruiting starts. Use a good organic liquid manure such as Seasol or Maxicrop and use as a foliar spray.

Pick your tomatoes as they ripen, to encourage more fruit.

Zucchini

You will find zucchini one of the easiest vegetables to grow, with amazing yields. They just keep giving! Zucchini are part of the cucumber / melon / pumpkin family and enjoy a warm growing season.

Sow 2 or 3 seeds directly into a mound of richly composted soil in late spring, or after frosts are over. You can train zucchini to grow up a trellis or fence, which can help prevent powdery mildew. When the seedlings are about 10cm (4inches) tall, gently pull out all but the strongest plant.

You'll need about 3 or 4 mounds (plants) to feed a family of 4 - 6. Give them plenty of water and add organic fertilizer every 4 weeks or so. When the zucchini reach between 15 and 20 cm (6-8inches) it's time to pick them. They can grow really quickly - literally overnight - so keep a vigilant eye on them otherwise you'll end up with inedible veggies. You also want to pick them as they're ready to keep the yields high.

Butternut Pumpkins

Pumpkins are known for being easy to grow. Belonging to the same family as zucchini, they grow in similar conditions. Again plant seeds in mounds and keep the strongest seedling. Have your mounds about a metre (yard) apart.

Mulch around the mound and keep the water up to them in really hot and dry weather. Feed every 3 weeks with well rotten manure or mature compost.

Here's where the difference comes in. You need to leave pumpkins on the vine to fully mature. Wait until the vines have died off before harvesting (somewhere between 14 & 20 weeks). Before any chance of frost, harvest by cutting the stems at least 5cm (2inches) from the pumpkin.

Store in a dry place until needed.

Leeks and Spring Onions

Spring onions and leeks are in the Allium family and grow in very similar conditions. You can grow in seed raising mix or seed directly where they are to grow. If you grow seeds in punnets you can transplant seedlings when they are about 20cm (8inches) tall into well prepared beds (they like a little lime if your soil is acidic), about 20cm apart.

Some people like to "blanch" the stems of leeks to keep them white, but I don't bother. All you really need to do for leeks and spring onions is give them plenty of water, mulch to keep the weeds down and the soil moist and apply organic fertilizer every few weeks.

Harvest when leeks are about 2cm (an inch) thick, and spring onions as they become big enough.

Bush or Dwarf Beans

There are many different varieties of beans to choose from. When you're starting out, go for the bush or dwarf varieties. Grow these beans in warm weather as beans don't like the cold (unless you're growing broad beans - different story).

Fertilize along the row where your beans are to grow. Don't let your bean seeds come into direct contact with your organic fertilizer. Sow your beans directly where they are to grow, into damp soil and avoid watering near them for the first few days. (Don't soak seeds before planting).

Space rows at 60cm (24inches) and push seeds about 2cm (an inch) into the soil, 10cm (4inches) apart. A row about 3 or 4 metres (yards) long should be enough for a family of 5.

To get a continuous supply of beans, start your next sowing when the first crop has grown their first true leaves. Feed with a liquid organic fertilizer when flowering starts. Remember to harvest your beans while they're young and tender. They taste better this way, but more importantly, they will give you much better yields.

If you want to save your own seeds, leave the healthiest pods on the bush until they have completely dried. Then pick and pod them, storing in a dry place until next season. Remember to label them.

Peas

Peas will yield heavily if you give them what they need. And they are so delicious! Most varieties love the same conditions. Plant in late summer through to late winter, providing your soil is still workable. Peas like a higher pH than most vegetables, so add some lime into the soil along with mature compost or organic fertilizer.

Provide support by giving them something to climb up. Plant seeds every 5cm (2inches) in a well-drained soil with a sunny position and provide support with small sticks or similar until they reach what you want to grow them on.

Keep down any weeds with good organic mulch. Feed with an organic liquid fertilizer every 3 or 4 weeks. Keep moist in dry weather. Pick regularly to increase yields. Save seed the same as you would beans.

Beetroot

I love growing beetroot. It's so easy to grow - but let me say this up front; it's quite different from the tinned supermarket kind.

Plant throughout spring and summer. Add lime to your soil a couple of weeks before planting if your soil is a bit acid. Take your seeds and soak them overnight. Sow directly in the soil, about 1cm (half inch) deep and 30cm (12inches) apart. Cover lightly with soil and water them in. If you want a continuous supply, plant your next crop every 2 - 3 weeks.

At about 4 or 5 weeks, give them a feed with organic liquid fertilizer. You pull your beets when they have grown to about 6 to 8 cm (2 to 3 inches) in diameter, roughly 8 to 10 weeks after planting. Don't leave them to grow huge as they just become tough and woody.

The young leaves are great in a salad. I love to roast or boil them. They make great juice when added to apple and carrot. I've also pickled them and turned them into soup - very unusual, but delicious.

So there you have it - the 10 easiest veggies to grow. If you're short on garden space you can try growing some of these in pots. You just need to remember to make sure you water when needed.

I wish you every success in getting started gardening organically. If you already garden, have a go at getting your kids (or grandkids) to try growing these veggies themselves. You'll be surprised at how much more eager they are to eat something they've grown themselves.

Relationships: Why Do Some People Cheat?

When it comes to describing why some people cheat, it is certainly not a black and white answer. So based on my current level of awareness and intelligence; I will do my best to give some answers to this question.

Three Experiences

Wellbeing &

I believe that in order to understand or at least try to understand why some people cheat; we need to look at three experiences. What I mean here is that there is the experience of the person who cheats, there is the experience of the person who has been cheated on and there is also the literal experience that is seen by others.

Relationships: Why Do Some People Cheat?

The literal experience

So let's start off with the literal experience. Here judgments are made and one person is typically seen as a victim and the other is seen as the perpetrator. One person is classed as good and the other as bad.

There is usually questions asked, as to why the person has cheated, but these are rarely deep questions. It is also unlikely that any questions would be asked; as to why the other person has been cheated on.

The Person Who Cheats

This person has one of two options as to how they go about dealing with the conflict and pain that has been created by their actions.

They can feel a sense of regret and remorse within. Beating themselves up mentally and emotionally for the choice they have made. This will also cause incredible guilt and even shame.

It is also possible for the person to feel justified in their actions. Perhaps the person's needs were not being met in the relationship or feel that it is not possible for the relationship to meet there needs. It could be that their partner cheated before and now they feel as though they are getting their own back.

Justification is usually a defence mechanism the ego mind uses to protect itself. It does not take much thought to see that one can justify pretty much anything.

The above options could also go in cycles and alternate; based on different internal and external factors. One could feel guilty for their actions one moment and justified for their actions in the next.

The Person Who Has Been Cheated On

Here the person is likely to feel betrayed and betrayal at the deepest level of their being. The term heartbroken comes to mind here, with a feeling that the heart has been ripped out and now all that resides there is emptiness.

One can feel as though their life is over and that they have nothing to live for any more. This can also create feelings of being powerless and of having no control.

The Two Experiences

As we look at the two main experiences it becomes clear to see that they are each having a subjective experience.

So now let's look at this from a deeper level and see what might cause a person to cheat and also what might be going on for the other person who is being cheated on.

The Person Who Cheats

So what is going on in the mind of the person who cheats? There is of course general views on why women would cheat and why men cheat. These include mans need to procreate with as many women as possible for 'evolutionary reasons'. And women are often viewed as being 'emotional creatures' that have no control.

Evolution

The evolutionary answer is obviously legitimate and carries some truth. However, by using this as an answer; it says that men have no control of their actions and are therefore not responsible either. They are at the whim off there body because of evolution. And for someone who is a conscious human being and not an animal; this answer will not suffice.

What this answer does not take into account is that both men and women are usually motivated at an emotional level. And what causes this motivation is the desire to have ones needs fulfilled. And these needs that are calling out to be met are to do with the here and now or the past that has not been processed.

Needs

These needs could be classed as 'higher' and more evolved needs or 'lower' and less evolved needs. Depending on how conscious and evolved one is, will define what their primary needs are and whether their 'lower' needs have been met. They are classed as lower, not because they are less important than the higher needs but because they exist lower in the body and are to do with ones survival.

Inner child

These lower needs typically create conflict when ones inner child carries trauma. And this causes these needs to be unmet. The needs that I am talking about consist of being: accepted, validated, nurtured, loved and approved. Although these needs are years old, they still need to be acknowledged and validated. If they are not looked, they will control one's life. Ones behaviour is then likely to be reactive and unconscious as a result.

The reason for this is that unless the original trauma has been validated, observed and processed or at least observed; the inner child will take over and continue to create the same inner and outer conflict. One will lose their self of self. And from this place of merging with the inner child, these needs can never be met, they are insatiable. One will continue to play out the same patterns and stories of the past.

Playing Out The Past

By cheating on another person there might also be a sense of revenge, and revenge that is really meant for an original caregiver. Here the unprocessed past is now being projected onto the present person in one's life

Conclusion

So whether someone will cheat will partly depend on how conscious they are and on their relationship to their inner child. Because if one is operating purely from the body, ones awareness will be extremely limited and one will be completely unaware of what consequences might occur from their actions. All that is on their mind is the fulfilment of their current needs or impulses. The ability of the heart to empathise is basically out of use or has been bypassed.

Emotional Creatures

I believe that describing women as emotional creatures or as being from another planet just creates more confusion. When in reality, women just like men, have masculine and feminine traits within. If they are over emotional and act in irresponsible ways; it shows that they also have inner child work to do.

The Person Who Has Been Cheated On

It is natural for the person to feel like a victim and that all of the feelings that they are experiencing are being caused by the person who cheated on them. And all that happens during this time needs to be honoured, validated and grieved.

However, does another person really have the power to cause another person to feel rejected, abandoned, powerless and empty for example? Does ones wellbeing really rest upon another?

History Revisited

What I believe is actually occurring here is the past that has not been processed, is appearing once more. And that the reason these emotions and feelings are so intense is because old unprocessed wounds, relating to original caregivers, are being opened.

This will not be realised unless one has some kind of inner awareness. And all of the unprocessed feelings of rejection, abandonment, loss, betrayal, powerlessness, hopelessness and the emotions of anger, frustration and resentment that still exist from the original trauma in ones childhood; will now be projected onto the present partner.

Vulnerable

It could also be said that if one has experienced intense abandonment and rejection as a child, it will make them vulnerable to experiencing them as an adult. There might even be an expectation that the partner will leave them, just like their caregivers/s did.

Self Sabotage

Feelings of low self worth are created through these early experiences of neglect and this can lead to self sabotage. Here one can unconsciously act in ways that will push the other person away and to go with another person. The reason for this that the ego mind came to associate the early experiences as being safe and now as a result of this; continues to create the same patterns in the present.

Conclusion

This shows how important it is for one to become conscious of their past and to process it. Because all that has not been looked at will influence ones present life. It will define what kind of people one will attract and on the quality of the relationships that one has.

Symbolic Relationships

A relationship can lead to the loss of one's individual identity; however it does not remove the fact that one is having their own unique experience. And this experience is allowing one to become aware of all that needs to be processed for one to become a whole human being. The past that is unfinished and unprocessed is being brought up to the surface through the relationships that one has with others.

However, this involves looking at relationships symbolically, as opposed to literally. Observing what happens instead of getting emotionally trapped by what happens and the 'drama' of the experience.

Occurrences like enmeshment and dependency cause one to lose their sense of self. This is partly down to having boundaries that are nonexistent and this allows dysfunctional relationships to occur. This can lead to the illusion of being incomplete and empty and that one needs another to feel whole.

This is a common idea and belief in our society, but it is one that is both false and dysfunctional. And one that has the potential to create years of needless confusion and suffering. This shows that a new paradigm is required in our society, when it comes to the purpose of a relationship.

What Is Most Important?

We don't often ponder the question: what is most important? Psychologists point to Maslow's hierarchy of needs to answer the question. Let's assume today that our basic needs of food and shelter are met. Imagine for a minute, if you will, that the doctor just informed you that you have just one month left to live. What will you do? What will you not do? I have actually asked this question to many people. Every person, without exception, has told me that they would spend the last month of their lives with family and friends. Nobody answered: "I need to work harder". It is not suggested that work is not important; I work very hard myself. Provided our basic needs are met, work is just not more important than relationships. There are very few things more important than relationships. People may be tempted to think that money, wealth, possessions, power, fame, or other things make people happy. That is not true. Those things without relationships never provide long term happiness. In fact, people go crazy when kept in isolation for too long. We require human interaction.

If relationships are very important for human happiness we should deepen them and spend more time relating. Many people simply live together without having a deep and meaningful relationship. Needless to say, they are less fulfilled than those who value relationships as most important. In fact, even business people find more success if they take relationships seriously. Let's make our relationships count.

Wellbeing &

Relationships also have a potential downside. Bad relationships can ruin our lives. These relationships can bankrupt us, harm us, and damage the relationships we have with others. I was amazed to learn that it is only psychologically possible to have very close, intimate relationships with eight people at once. Count with how many people you have very close, intimate relationships with people to whom you can share anything and everything. Most people are lucky to have even five such relationships. With so few close and intimate relationships possible at once, and given the tremendous impact relationships have on our lives (good or bad) don't you think we need to choose these close relationships very carefully? Today's call is for the following:

What Is Most Important?

• Take your close and intimate relationships seriously;
• Invest the time and effort needed for meaningful and deep relationships into those relationships;
• Treat these relationships (and people) as the most important thing in your life;
• Examine the impact of your closest friends on your life;
• Reevaluate whether or not all of these relationships need to continue or not (remember: you only have eight slots);
• Make a decision to be more relationship oriented (things are not as important as most people think).

Now let's turn the tables; how are you impacting those who have close relationships with you? We only have one life and a few special relationships. Let's make the most of them. They are much more important to your happiness and wellbeing than you may think. And don't forget your importance to the happiness and wellbeing of your spouse and children.

What Is Most Important?

My Clients Won't Pay Me - What Now?!

The question: My client won't pay me? Do I have to bed?
Ellie

It happens, that's all I can say. And in order to continue freelancing and work from the comfort of your own home, you'll have to accept it. One of the biggest perks about working from home is being able to organize your time and dictate your own schedule. The biggest problem we will have...is sadly, payment.

Wellbeing &

If the project is already confirmed and better yet, if there are documents and agreements signed between you and client, you can safely pursue this client by dropping bomb-sized hints via email. The excuse of 'My boss is harassing me about your payment' cannot be used because...you're the boss! But you can say things like "I was just wondering...." Or "No rush but when can I expect the payment" or "My computer needs an upgrade and I plan to do it tomorrow. Can I get the payment soon?". And perhaps, you can also say things like...."I heard a hurricane hit your State. How are you doing? I hope you're doing well". Sometimes, when you voice your concern about their wellbeing and health, they will start feeling guilty and pay you.

My Clients Won't Pay Me - What Now?!

Telling the clients off won't work too well in your favor because you still want their business, so, don't tell them off. Maybe they are trying work some things out on their side or trying to get THEIR clients to pay them so that they can pay you. It's true. Some clients are mere in-between people. And if this is the case, they may need to ensure that THEIR clients pay them so that they can pay you.

Whether their clients pay them or not...is not your concern. It's got nothing to do with you. The work has been done and the job delivered on time. So, you SHOULD be getting your payment whether their clients run away or not! Remember that...and if your client gives you the same line....say, "I really understand and sympathize with you but...I can't help you there! Now, when can I expect the payment?"

Send them an email every other day. If they don't respond, your senses should be tingling by now. By the third time they ignore your email, say something firm but not nasty. If they still don't respond, send them another invoice. Some payment processors like paypal, stormpay and ikobo allows you to send invoices to payors, so, do that. If this is already the fifth time you're sending the email, send them repeated invoices every day.

By then, they should get the message.

Special Dietary Requirements for Children

Children have nutritional needs different from those of adults in three respects:

1) Their energy requirement per unit of weight is higher than that of adults.

Wellbeing &

2) Their food should contain a higher proportion of body-building materials (protein and mineral elements) and of vitamins than that of adults.

Special Dietary Requirements for Children

3) Their diet should be selected with special care to include only foods which are readily digestible.

Energy Requirements

Qualitatively, the nutritional factors necessary for the child are the same as those required to nourish an adult, namely, energy of fuel, protein, mineral salts and vitamins, plus suitable amounts of water and fiber. Quantitatively, however, their requirements differ. This is due to the fact that:

1) The basal metabolism, the amount of energy used in internal processes of the body, is considerably higher in youth than in adult life.

2) The child is usually much more active than the adult, and uses a great deal of energy in work and play.

3) Lastly, the child must have extra energy to grow on or to store in the new tissues that are being built.

Need for Tissue-Building Material

Protein is required for building muscle tissues, as well as for the growth of the various organs; whereas the average adult does not need more than 10 percent of his calories in the form of proteins, about 15 percent of the calories as protein will probably be safer allowance for growing children, who are storing protein.

Moreover, probably about two-thirds of the protein in the diet of children should be from the foods of animal origin (chiefly milk and eggs), which furnish complete proteins and those more efficient for growth than vegetable proteins. Hence, if a child is fed a quart of milk daily, he will be fairly certain to receive a safe surplus of protein in the best available form.

Digestive Abilities

Lastly, it should be fairly obvious that it is essential to limit the foods used in the diet of children to such foods as are easily digestive or readily handled by the digestive tract of the child at the special age for which one is planning.

The alimentary tract of infants is not equipped to digest starches and fats, and only gradually develops the ability to handle these food materials so that only small amounts of very thoroughly cooked starchy foods can be given during the first year, while fats must be restricted in amount even in the second year.

Infants and young children seem to have less immunity to the presence of bacteria in the intestinal tract and the mucous membrane lining their alimentary tract is also more sensitive to irritating substances than in later life. Foods which are difficult to masticate, such as vegetable, nuts, etc., should be given to young children only in finely minced or ground form.

Raw vegetables and most raw fruits have to be introduced with caution as the digestive tract becomes stringer and the teeth are well-developed.

Female Tattoo Gallery - Popular Tattoos Women Want

Female tattoos or feminine designed tattoos are usually favored by women or girls are becoming increasingly familiar as tattooing became more socially acceptable, largely due to the many celebrities who publicly sported tattoos. These can be usually found in a great female tattoo gallery.

This kind of female tattoo gallery has tattoos that are usually smaller and prettier. Popular designs might include a butterfly, a flower or a Celtic design. Women's tattoo designs are also less heavy, less aggressive-looking. They tend to have thinner lines, though this is, of course, a generalization rather than a rule.

& Fitness

Women nowadays are gradually opting for large tattoos. 'New school' hearts, stars, roses and tribal tattoo designs on the lower back are increasingly being asked for by females. Therefore these days, a female tattoo gallery will have these popular designs as women are becoming more experimental in the shapes and sizes of their designs.

Female Tattoo Gallery - Popular Tattoos Women Want

Many tattooists and female tattoo gallery report that when musicians, especially hip-hop artists get tattoos, there is usually a particular tattoo that is very popular. The popularity of lower back and stomach placement of tattoos suggests that most women still don't want their tattoos to be too obvious and also a desire for a more sexual placement of the tattoo.

Many female tattoo gallery will normally recommend women to get their tattoos done on the more popular spot such as the lower back and ankle.

First, lower back is a very sexy spot to have a tattoo. It seldom shows, but can be 'flashed' as the woman bends over. Catching a glimpse of a lower back tattoo on a woman, you almost get the feeling that you're seeing something you shouldn't be - very tempting!

Ankle tattoos in any female tattoo gallery are usually small. Other tattoo location for girls include the shoulder - the left shoulder is traditionally the feminine side - because shoulder tattoos are a great accent when you're wearing a tank top or halter top in the summer.

When it comes down to it, it's what makes you feel good. It's going to be around for quite a while so you may as well choose a tattoo that has lasting appeal in the female tattoo gallery.

There are so many good tattoo designs and custom pieces a tattoo artists can do nowadays so don't be tempted to get some designs which will date really fast and end up looking shoddy.

Generally female tattoos in any female tattoo gallery are very sexy and striking, and they certainly don't need to be offensive in any way. Do a search for 'female tattoos' on the internet in order to get more ideas with regard to tattoo designs.

What Can Be Done to Soothe Inflamed, Dry Eyes?

Question:

My daughter suffers from very dry eyes and red eyelids. Over the years, they have flared up intermittently and become swollen and infected. She is now unable to wear contact lenses or any make-up. Her wedding is coming up shortly and she is very worried. Recently, her doctor diagnosed blepharitis. Do you have any advice?

Wellbeing &

Answer:

What Can Be Done to Soothe Inflamed, Dry Eyes?

Blepharitis is a chronic (long-term) inflammatory disease that affects the rims of the eyelids, particularly the eyelash follicles. As a result many people lose their lashes, which affects their appearance. But more important than this, eyelashes perform a vital function - they screen the sensitive surface of the eye from irritants such as dust, grit, insects and other foreign bodies.

The weakened, vulnerable eyelids may become infected by bacteria in the environment, and this can produce a thick mucus discharge, which causes the rims of the eyelids to become red and sore. The surface of the eye may also become infected, causing conjunctivitis, which can make the eyes red, sting and feel gritty. The irritation can cause a sensitivity- usually a stinging sensation - to bright light which is why sufferers often wear sunglasses. In the mornings, eyelids may be stuck together because the thick mucus has dried and formed a crust. The area can hurt and itch, too, and the hair follicles may swell to form small bulbous cysts or sties, which are both painful and unsightly.

As your daughter fears, one of the most difficult things to cope with is other people's reactions. Perhaps because the condition is so obvious, they feel bound to ask rather silly questions.

Conventional therapy usually consists of antibiotics or steroids, either taken orally or applied to the eyes. This may give some temporary relief but tends to be frustrating because the problem recurs extreme measure.

Blepharitisis considered to be an autoimmune condition, which is where the body's immune system turns on itself, treating its own usual function of fighting off foreign bodies and particles, including infection. Also, in some way the tissue at the edge of the eyelids, which is fibrous and like a very fragile form of cartilage, changes its biochemical structure, which misleads the immune system.

In my experience, it's vital to look at general health and wellbeing in order to support the immune system. The changes are good that it will then self-regulate and help the damaged eyes to heal.

Diet

The general principle is to eat foodstuffs that are easy on the digestion and improve general energy, and to avoid foods that are known to harm the body.

* Choose fresh, wholesome food, preferably organic, that contains as few additives as possible. Eat at least five portions of fresh vegetables and non-citrus fruit a day. For one month, drink a glass of freshly juiced carrot, apple and ginger every day.

* Avoid yeast products (linked to candida overgrowth, gut fermentation and symptoms of fatigue, bloating and digestive problems, which drain the body's energy); citrus fruits and other sour foods (which increase acid in the stomach, causing in digestion and the slowing down or blocking of the digestive process and absorption of nutrients); alcohol, coffee, excess sugar, canned and processed products, spicy dishes and fungal foods, including vinegar, mushrooms and blue cheese.

Supplements

* To build immunity, for two months take one BioEnergy capsule twice a day; half a teaspoon of kolonji oil with a little manuka honey every day, and l5mg of zinc every other day.

* To improve digestion and absorption of nutrients, soak two kadu twigs and one third of a teaspoonful of kariatu powder in hot water overnight strain and drink on an empty stomach in the morning, every day for two months. If you find it very bitter, add a little manuka honey.

To soothe your eyes

* Put two drops of pure organic rose water into the eyes at bedtime every night for one month.

* Help to heal your eyes by rubbing the palms of your hands together until they are warm, then cover your eye area with them. Repeat this three to five times, three times a day.

Therapies

Consult a qualified homoeopath and/or naturopath.

Diabetes Blood Sugar Chart - Normal Blood Glucose Ranges

Monitoring your glucose ranges is very important and must be done on a regular basis (especially if you are a diabetic). One of the best ways to monitor your glucose is to use a diabetes blood sugar level chart.

Glucose is the main fuel that your body uses to produce energy. Without it your body won't function properly (just like an automobile). The chart that I'm about to show you will be very helpful to you as it will help you monitor when problems occur and if there are any patterns of your readings. The patterns will become very clear to you (as you learn how your own body works) and you will be able to discuss them more clearly and effectively with your health professional. It is crucial that you know kind of events, food, activities, and medications may cause your blood sugar to increase or decrease.

& Fitness

You should work closely with your health care provider to ensure that you are meeting your goals. He will provide a meter tool for you to help you keep track of your levels. You should familiarize yourself on how to use the meter.

Diabetes Blood Sugar Chart - Normal Blood Glucose Ranges

Upon waking up (and before breakfast), your levels should be between 80 and 120. This is considered to be a healthy range.

Before meals your levels should also be between 80 and 120.

Two hours after you eat meals, your levels should be 170 or less.

Before lunch, it should drop back down to 80-120.

Before you go to bed, it is ideal to be between 100 and 140.

At 3am (while sleeping), it is ideal to be between 70 and 110.

While fasting, it is ideal that you stay in the 70 to 100 range.

The numbers from this chart will help give you a good idea of normal blood glucose ranges; however, you may want to ask your health care provider where exactly your range should be at (during each of the above events). It is important to receive frequent testing as this can reduce the risk of having complications from your diabetes.

Foods Good For Your Liver

Working out to improve a specific part of the body is difficult. Eating for the same purpose is not. When it comes to your liver, there are foods that are good for it.

Your liver is an organ vital to healthy living. Your liver serves many functions such as storing sugars, vitamins and minerals and eventually uses them for energy and even controls the production of your cholesterol. Additionally, your liver cleanses your blood of any toxins and is helpful in assisting to your overall wellbeing!

Wellbeing &

There are many well known suspects that are bad for your liver. Eating and drinking substances that are high in alcohol and caffeine can be detrimental to your liver functions. Additionally, smoking and taking copious amounts of some medicines such as aspirin can have negative effects on your liver. Drink at least eight glasses of water a day to aid in the cleansing process that your body relies on your liver for. Add some fresh squeezed lemon to your water for a detoxifying and cleansing beginning and end to your day.

Foods Good For Your Liver

Remember, taking certain medications such as aspirin in excess can cause serious harm to your liver. In addition, certain illicit and street drugs will permanently scar and reduce functions of the organ. Drinking too much alcohol or mixing it with medications can also cause significant damage to the liver. In addition to these harmful chemicals, others such as certain cleaning products and aerosol sprays in surplus can lead to severe damage as well.

Consuming foods rich in antioxidants are important for a healthy liver. Eat foods with great amounts of Vitamin C, Vitamin E and B such as fruits and veggies. Vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage are significant and useful detoxification agents. Cleansing fruits such as fresh berries, prunes, raisins, apples and pears are good choices for a healthy liver. Avoiding foods that are high in fat and cholesterol can also keep your liver healthy and assist in maintaining long lasting functionality. In addition, foods high in fiber such as whole grain breads, rice and cereals are essential to liver health. Cooking with lots of garlic and onion is a fantastic way to keep your liver healthy while still eating foods that taste great. Both are great antioxidants!

Taking small but simple steps when choosing foods to add to your diet can make a world of difference in the long term health of your liver. Whole and naturally organic foods that act as antioxidants are always a healthy option and will assist in maintaining your overall health as well as your vital organ- your liver.
